Mentreng.com | Jakarta – After meeting with a number of religious figures and leaders, the GMRI Team (Indonesian Moral Reconciliation Movement) which carries the mandate of Gus Dur and Siniwun Paku Buwono XII and Prof. Habib Khirzin, Cokorde Gde Agung Suyase and other interfaith figures, on Monday 1 November 2021 were received by the General Secretary of the PGI (Indonesian Church Association) Rev. Jacklevyn Frits Manuputty, at Graha Oikomene Jl. Salemba Raya No. 10 Central Jakarta together with the top management and staff.
Initially, the planned presence of the GMRI Team included Ustad Bagus Mulyono, Imhar Wati Burhanudin, Eko Sriyanto Galgendu and Jacob Ereste. However, due to something else and heavy rains in Jakarta, the two members of the lsin team were unable to attend the hearing and gathering, which began with serving warm coffee with the PGI Secretary General. That was the first impression when the writer met the heavy coffee connoisseur. As the driving force behind the awakening of spiritual awareness and the General Chairperson of Interfaith, Eko Sriyanto Galgendu also expressed his hope that PGI can work together with GMRI and interfaith forums to create togetherness in building a movement to awaken spiritual awareness for all Indonesian citizens. Because spiritual practice is the best way to overcome various problems that threaten the survival of the Indonesian nation and state. Because to hope for improvement from politicians and from economists cannot be expected to be able to answer the problems of the nation and state which are dominantly caused by political commotion and chaotic economic chaos and have an impact on the life of the nation as a whole.
Spiritual investment as a big concept of GMRI can actually be done, because of the great potential possessed by the Indonesian people. So said Eko Sriyanto Galgendu who carried Gus Dur’s ideas and ideas as stated in a written mandate and recorded in a notary deed to be able to unite the religions of the sky and the religions of the earth. Because the body in the sense of the human body is empty, while the spiritual seems to have died. In fact, every human child, as stated by Slamet Ma’arif, figure 212, clearly has a spiritual frequency vibration.
Therefore, the spiritual awareness awakening movement is becoming increasingly relevant to be managed as a force for the Indonesian nation and state to embrace future glory and become a beacon — light — for humans on earth.
Jecky – as the Secretary General of PGI is familiarly called – also believes and believes that Western and Christian communities have tried to embrace spirituality.
Therefore, at the meeting of the World Council of Churches in Germany, he also hoped that the dominant spiritual concept in the East could emerge in various forms and variants. Because Western society is now starting to learn a lot from the East. Therefore, our nation does not need to feel inferior so that it feels compelled to learn from the West. It’s just that according to him, the form or format of spirituality needs to be formulated. Maybe one of the forms is in the form of digital spirituality in accordance with the rhythm and progress of today’s millennial era, he said.
The mystical meaning or spirituality exists in all religions, so the existing spirituality can be maximized so that later it can become an added value for existing religions. On this basis, as the General Secretary of PGI, Jecky expressed his support for GMRI to build a movement to awaken the spiritual awareness of the Indonesian nation so that it can become an alternative to efforts to overcome the damage to ethical, moral and moral values of humans on earth. And on that basis, Jecky felt the need to call on all religious leaders and people to maintain the existence of religion together. Until PGI also provided a place for the National Forum and there were PGI administrators who were also active in Interfaith Associations.
“Graha Oikumene has become a kind of common house for a number of activists. Because this building is open for all kinds of social and humanitarian activities,” said Jecky, who claimed to have had quite a bit of spiritual experience when he gathered with world-class religious leaders from a number of Islamic countries.
“Because I like to cook, so I became a chef for the prominent Islamic religious figures who gathered in the Middle East,” he said, recounting his experience of gathering with world-class Islamic religious leaders.
Even so familiar, at one time he was trusted to be a cook. Until one day he revealed that he who was considered an infidel could be trusted to be the cook of Islamic leaders who were also from the lineage of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, said Jecky with laughter and expressions of happiness and pride.
This means that, at a certain level, the association of religious leaders of this world caliber has proven to be able to get along and be peaceful in a harmonious and friendly life system. But no less important, PGI itself has since placed spirituality in the effort to build a just and prosperous democracy for all.
This theme was raised by PGI at the MPL (Complete Worker Assembly) Session on January 28-31 2019 in Cisarua Bogor. Meanwhile, in the meeting of the World Council of Churches in Germany, it is also hoped that the dominant spiritual concept in the East can appear in various forms and styles. So that more and more Westerners will study in the East.
Therefore, the Indonesian people no longer need to feel inferior, they must learn to the West. It’s just that according to Jecky, the form or format of spirituality needs to be displayed in various ways so that it can become an attractive choice for today’s millennials. Maybe one of them is in the form and model of digital spirituality that is appropriate and in tune with the progress of the times, he said. Because the mystical value or spirituality exists in all religions. That is, if spiritual values can be maximized, it will definitely add value to existing religions.
So on this basis, he said, PGI should provide support for the awareness movement for the spiritual awakening of the Indonesian nation so that it can become an alternative answer for the damage to ethical, moral and moral values of humans on earth.
